Still Love shows a seemingly boring and pleasing still life. But what kind of flowers look like that? Well those that are made out of soft tampons. The motive addresses the issue that while the female body is often sexualised and dragged into the public by the media, advertisement, pornography or prostitution, female sexuality and normal bodily functions are often considered private (for example period shaming). What is supposed to be behind closed doors is taken into the public and shown as what it is: normal and beautiful.

People of Veddel were photographed and the pictures converted into halftone images. To increase the level of anonymity but moreover to stay true to the concept of creating faces representing the people, parts of the faces where combined to create totally new faces. These are embedded into a repetitive pattern resembling old wallpapers which includes elements representing the neighbourhood and its people. These faces are painted with the original stencils and pattern roller that where used to paint the faces at Veddel - Metro station. Originally, this motive was pasted on the streets of Hamburg as a reaction to the suspension of human rights during the lock-down in Germany. The statue of Liberty was painted onto the first 19 articles of the German Grundgesetz (constitution) and the suspended articles were crossed out. Painted during the Lock down in Germany with the materials that were the most valuable during that time: Toilet paper and flour. Sheets of toilet paper were mounted on to canvas using wheatpaste: a mixture of (wheat/rice) flour and water. This created a truly unique piece of art. The motive of the snail was first painted on a wall in Buenos Aires. Originally painted in Spanish with with the command to follow facebook, twitter and youtube. Over the years the social media changed and now it ticktok and instagram replaced youtube and twitter. But the quote remains the same, taken from that of the Urugyian poet Mario Benedetti:" La vida es corta - mas, la nada es larga".
It is an old motive that remains up to date.
