People of Veddel were photographed and the pictures converted into halftone images. To increase the level of anonymity but moreover to stay true to the concept of creating faces representing the people, parts of the faces where combined to create totally new faces. These are embedded into a repetitive pattern resembling old wallpapers which includes elements representing the neighbourhood and its people.

These prints are accompanying the project “Gesichter der Veddel” (Faces of Veddel) as part of redesigning the Veddel Metro Station in Hamburg, Germany.

Each print is shipped with the booklet “Gesichter der Veddel” (in German) which was published individually.
