The installation “Freedom Fighters” might look like a wheel of fortune in a casino but here you cannot win anything. Attached to the wheel are 8 heads of state spinning freely, these are from countries that posses nuclear weapons. Underneath this wheel is the body of a person riding the bomb. Each of these people has the power to destroy the world, spinning the wheel will elect one – just a matter of (bad)luck..
The installation was built for the Lunatic festival and later also exhibited in Hamburg during the MsArtville Festival. Before building the fortune wheel, the same idea was realised as a mural at the Kunsthallen Wilhelmshaven, for more information about the concept, please have a look here.
