Foyel was the last of the chiefs fighting against the genocide against indigenous tribes led by the president of Argentina. While Foyel seems to be forgotten in Argentina’s history, the same president’s face still adorns the 100 pesos bill. The colourful background is made of the whipala which is the traditional flag of the indigenous tribes of what is now Argentina.
