Moral Kombat was first painted on canvas around February 2020. The idea was to use strong symbols to highlight the battle for independence and democracy of Hong Kong. The text is derived from a popular video game while the Black Bauhinia flag is resembling an umbrella. Together with the protective gear these are the uniform of freedom fighters. Fast forward to now, China and masks have become a symbol of something entirely different. However, lets not forget about the pro-democracy movement of Hong Kong and elsewhere.
