The motive’s origin is a beautification project of a street used by prostitutes in Bremen. The idea was to hide the question how we look at our bodies and sexuality in plain sight. While the baroque wallpaper and still life might look boring and pleasing there is more to it than first meets the eye. If you look closely you’ll see that the pattern is made out of sex toys and the flowers are actually soft tampons.
