I wanted to do a screen print version of my Rainbow Nation mural for quite a while now. After the recent events (prohibition of pride parade by Hungarian’s prime minister and not allowing to flag the German parliament with the rainbow flag during the pride parade) it became clear to me, that the rainbow flag itself is quite political. But it is so much more than showing solidarity with queer people. The rainbow flag a symbol of democracy, human rights and dignity.

For the design I chose people that can act as placeholders for a diverse society. The blank square is the place for everyone to find themselves as part of society. As the rainbow flag is more than just a flag, this artwork is far more than just that: is meant to be hung in spaces where it can serve as a statement.
