I stumbled across the phrase in Cape Town while I was working with HIV-infected children. It was written inside a taxi (those small vans packed full of people) and reminded the driver to count the fares. Years later I used it for this stencil that I did for World Aids day 2008 (1st of December) and since then I try to paint or publish it otherwise every year. In 2018 I started a fundraiser to donate the proceeds to the Red Cross Children’s Hospital in Cape Town, where I used to work. You can find the fundraiser here.
