Two years ago to the date I was commissioned by MUCA (Museum for Urban and Contemporary Art) to paint a wall during the Tollwood Festival in Germany, a giant happening at Munich’s Thresienwiese (where the Oktoberfest takes place). The Tollwood is a place for interaction, talks, workshops, shows and urban art. Back then I painted ‘#5to12′ using a quote from German poet Heinrich Heine:“Die Welt lebt von deinem Atemzug” (The world survives of your breath), and was meant as a sarcastic comment on the three monkeys: the Deaf one (listening to spotify), the blind one (only looking on his cell) and the mute one (tossing around ‘likes’). That was before Greta started and FFF. So, I am happy to see that it made it back to the festival this year, an “old” motive but necessary…
